Cyrus Clarke And His Bands: The Expedition-The Cyrus Clarke Band- The Acousticats: Home
Acoustic music may slip in and out of fashion but the passion and purity remain true. For Cyrus Clarke, who has been playing various strains of American music for thirty years, the acoustic sound has become his hallmark. A dedicated songsmith, Clarke has also written a satchel of tunes, which have been recorded by Kate Wolf, the Cache Valley Drifters, the Acousticats, the Phil Salazar Band, and David West.
Clarke is widely known as a founding member of the Cache Valley Drifters. In addition to his twelve-year stint with the Drifters, in 1990 he founded another premier acoustic group from California, the Acousticats. After years of playing the front man and writer in ensemble oriented bands, he made the jump to his own outfits, The Cyrus Clarke Band and Cyrus Clarke & The Expedition, producing contemporary sounds highlighted by mandolins, guitars, and telecaster twang.
His songs are portraits in music. They bring a sense of place to his sound, taking the back roads through contemporary music. The journey goes on and the story continues to unfold as Cyrus has expanded his territory and moved to Maui. This will be the best place to continue to love the acoustic guitar sound that has become his trademark.
